Cleaning and Disinfection of the Instrument:
- Disinfection: Immerse the nippers in a disinfecting solution, following the manufacturer's instructions (15-30 minutes), choosing a product active against hepatitis viruses and dermatomycoses. Can be combined with washing in special machines.
- Washing: Thoroughly rinse under water with a special detergent manually or in a washing machine, using a plastic-bristle brush for the hinges.
- Drying: Lay the nippers open on a paper towel, wait for complete drying, then place them in craft paper bags.
- Sterilization: Perform according to the sterilizer or solution instructions (autoclave, dry heat oven, or specialized chemical solutions).
Recommendations:
- Do not soak the instrument in water for too long even with an anti-corrosion coating;
- Use only metal disinfectants, avoid contact with aggressive substances (acetone, alkalis);
- Monitor the concentration and exposure time of the disinfectant solution according to the instructions;
- Thoroughly dry the instrument after each stage to prevent corrosion;
- After sterilization, open the instrument directly in front of the client.
Checking Nippers Sharpness:
- Prepare a test material (e.g., film), ensuring it is evenly taut.
- Take the nippers, holding them as you would when working with a nail or cuticle.
- Make a cut on the material, pressing slightly - the result should be even and clean.
- If the cut is made cleanly and easily - the tool is ready for use. If not - contact the service center.
